Many students now use AI for homework. AI can write answers, explain ideas, and fix sentences. A chatbot is a computer tool that talks with you. It can make homework look very good. But good work does not always mean good learning.
Recent research gives a clear warning. Students may complete tasks better with general AI. However, this help may disappear during tests without AI. Using AI sometimes may be better than using it too much. The important question is how students use the tool. (oecd.org)
Imagine Ken has a difficult math problem. First, he asks AI for the final answer. He copies it and gets a good mark. The next week, he meets a similar problem alone. He cannot solve it.
Now Ken tries a different way. He asks, “Please give me one small hint.” Then he does each step himself. He also explains his answer aloud. Finally, he closes AI and tries again.
This way takes more time. Still, Ken is using his own brain. AI should be a study partner, not an answer machine. If you can explain the answer without AI, you probably learned it.
