A small ring may soon make artificial intelligence easier to use. On October 8, 2026, the technology startup Natura introduced Interface, a smart ring that will initially cost $99. It is designed to connect users with AI agents without making them take out their phones. (techcrunch.com)
Using the ring is simple. The user presses and holds a button with their thumb, speaks a request, and then releases the button. For example, someone could ask an AI agent to write a message, make a reminder, check a schedule, or record an idea. The answer can arrive through headphones, a messaging app, or Natura’s NatureOS app. The ring may work with several AI services, including ChatGPT and Claude.
Privacy is an important part of the design. Natura says the microphone is not always listening. It turns on only when the user presses the button. The ring can also save a recording when the phone is not nearby and send it later when the devices reconnect. (natura.inc)
Interface is not only an AI tool. It can also track health information, such as heart rate, sleep, movement, and heart rate variability. Natura says its battery may last between six and twelve days, depending on how the ring is used. However, these claims have not yet been tested by independent reviewers.
Natura expects pre-orders to begin in November 2026, with the first rings shipping in December 2026 or January 2027. After a free period of three to six months, users may need to pay a $9 monthly fee. The company also plans to raise the ring’s price later. (techcrunch.com)
Interface offers an interesting idea: AI that is always close but does not always demand your attention. Still, because the product has not shipped yet, users will have to wait and see whether it is truly more convenient than a smartphone.
