Why is one small shadow special?
At the bus stop, the air is hot.
But the sun feels worse.
The weather service says sun can make heat feel much hotter than shade. (weather.gov)
Now picture Ken at the stop.
He moves a little left.
He stands in shade.
His face feels better.
His arms feel less hot.
Shade also keeps skin safer from strong sun rays, or light from the sun. (epa.gov)
So shade helps twice: less heat, less strong sun. (cdc.gov)
A small shadow can feel like a friend.
