Astronomers have found a huge black hole far from the center of its galaxy. The black hole is about one million times heavier than the Sun and appears to be wandering through the galaxy. Scientists discovered it because it was tearing apart and swallowing a star.

The event, called TDE 2025abcr, happened in a galaxy about 750 million light-years from Earth. It was first noticed in November 2025 by the Zwicky Transient Facility in California.
