This morning, I decided to get the chores out of the way before doing anything else. The bin in the kitchen was overflowing, so I knew it was time to act. Today happened to be the collection day for recyclables, so I had to sort everything carefully and separate recyclables from regular trash. I gathered all the empty glass bottles, placed them in a clear bag, and tied up a big trash bag full of regular waste. Then I took out the bottles for recycling and put out the trash at the corner of the street. It was a small task, but I felt oddly satisfied afterward. There is something calming about a clean kitchen and an empty bin, and I think doing simple chores like this actually helps me start the day with a clearer mind.
