Who owns your "valuable time"?
"Momo" is a story by Michael Ende, a German writer. It was published in 1973. Momo is a special girl. She lives in an old theater. She listens to people and makes them happy. She has good friends like Beppo the baker and Gigi the street cleaner. Many children are her friends too.
But one day, "the gray men" come to the town. They talk about saving time. They take away real happiness from people. People start to work more and lose their free time.
Ende wants to tell us something important. In today's world, we think about work and things too much. We forget about important things like friends, kindness, and the true value of time.
